• Machine knitters …
… to help me knit some stock for my webshop and market stall

– I am interested to hear from machine knitters who would be willing to make a few pieces for me possibly on a regular basis, so that I can build my business and have all of my knitwear produced by UK crafts people. I knit myself however people are loving my things and I can't keep up with demand. I can pay £15.00 per garment to begin with. The patterns are very simple and easy to follow. I would need about 5 garments to begin, this will be ongoing work if anyone is interested. Please contact me via email or mobile (please call I am not scary)

• Experienced lace makers/textile workers …
– My name is Stacey Grant and I am a MA student at Kingston University in Surrey, UK. As a masters student I have been given the honour of showing at London Fashion Week in September. I am really interesting in creating a powerful contemporary lace. Using techniques such as point lace, minute crochet combined with laser cut leather and perspex as well as pre-bought antique laces and beads I hope to create a stunning textile which I will then use to make fitted structures.

One of the reasons that lace intrigues me is as an Irish person I am aware of some of the conditions that Irish lace was created in institutions, therefore this lace in many ways will form a tribute to those women.

I am looking for collaborators who are experienced lace makers/ textile workers to share this process with me and so, if you if you are interested in working with me, please do let me know. Of course you would be fully credited and featured in the catalog to accompany the show at London Fashion Week.

For Sale:

• Omnistitch 1000 SCS Embellishing Machine
– The machine can sew yarn, ribbon, cord, lace, onto the top of fabric using the special feeders that come with the machine. You can also use it for quilting, without the feeders, and you can also do freehand monogramming. It can take a little time to master, but the effects are quite unique. There is also an Omnistitch group at Yahoo, and there are demonstrations on YouTtube. The machine is not new and was first made in the 1990s. I believe that to buy one new now would cost around £700.00. It comes with the instruction book and an instructional DVD. It also has a new drive belt, new bobbins, and some needles. I am happy to post the machine, though it is rather heavy, or it can be collected. I am asking £120.00 plus p&p, if required. Please email me if you are interested, thanks.
